Works exactly as described. Arrived quickly in perfect condition. Passed all the tests (visual, smoke-trail, lighter flame and agar Petri dish exposed for 10 minutes). Can’t wait to get a second one!
One tiny gripe - Doesn’t come with any instructions, so needs a little imagination to work out the power supply is inside the machine and the plexiglass has slots to go in to!
These are first impressions, my opinion may change with more use:
Let’s start with the positives:
It is a good design, everything has a place, and it keeps the whole unit compact.
Its pretty easy to setup, however it was confusing as the additional parts such as the power supply were stored inside the actual unit, underneath the filter.
But you have to to take the filter out anyway to remove the film, so its not bad.
However,
Everything flexes, it feels like something is going to break just setting the thing up.
The filter doesn’t have a tight seal, so I guarantee non sterile air and turbulent air is escaping through the sides.
Not to mention you have to play an easter egg hunt to find your power supply and panel trim (its underneath the filter, which as you try to pull out, bends the whole unit, feeling like its going to snap.)
The cable is not very long at all either, so if you only have a specific spot to put it, you better have a close socket, or an extension.
I can’t imagine this is going to last very long especially constantly setting it up and taking it down.
And tbh, I could’ve made something like this for a fraction of the price, and I should’ve…
Not only that, if I did I wouldn’t have so much excess filament flying about everywhere.
£250 for around maybe £20-30 materials + Hepa Filter.
Seems they’re going for quantity over quality, since they camt be bothered to clean up excess filament 😂😂
Granted effort has been out into the design and the assembly, just a shame the materials and build doesn’t shape up.
I don’t want to sound nitpicky, but if I had the option again, I probably wouldn’t choose this product.
Sorry.
As some previous reviewers have pointed out, it's 3d printed, it feels cheap; and that's because it is......a more pertinent question is 'Does it work' yes, yes and more yes!
As a total newbie I've managed to use this flowhood to successfully and more importantly - 'cleanly' inoculate 4 agar dishes(King Oyster), 1 x grain spawn (Speckled Chestnut), 6kgs of Speckled Chestnut and 5Kgs of Oyster substrate; oh and a 500ml liquid culture, all in my basement workshop. Yes, you read that right; workshop....
I had a few sterility tests in place using agar plates. I exposed them openly for a long time! Zero growth observed, very pleased. This work very well. My only critic is the bench. It is very slippery and flimsy.
Nice bit of kit. Somewhat noisy, quiet fans would have been good

Great size for a smaller unit at a great price. Not too big and not too small. Plenty of work space and portable if you don't have a dedicated space (like me). Folds up with the filter guard and mine is under my bed.
I run a small business growing lions mane mushrooms, I have been using this product for four months in my lab and there has not been one issue. It works great, I have not tested it with a particle tester, but I have not had one issue in regards to contamination while using this. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a good-sized HEPA flow hood
Awesome just levelled up my game ! Thanks Funguy great product and extremely well made for the cost 🙏👍
Very easy to setup and I’ve had 100% success rate when colonizing plates and grain to grain transfers.
The seller was very patient with me I was dum and did not know the shipping and tax laws after doing searching around I was wrong and they were very patient and there customer service was tip top five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️
I am extremely satisfied, I use it for tissue culture. I left the glasses open for 5 and 10 minutes as a test and there was no contamination. I can only recommend the product. The only thing that could be improved in my opinion would be longer plexiglass plates and one that is installed in front of the head. Although I have to say that there has been no reason for this so far, as the product does its job.
Easy to set up, this unit has two very powerful fans, so great air distribution, packaged really well, great communication, amazing value purchase, very light but sturdy.
Buy this and save yourself a ton of headaches instead of using a still box
Unit does come with steel tray, just in these images It was swapped out for this one for convenience
Hood works great, plenty of power, I used it and had to set.to lowest speed. Good customer service as well, came with a chip on the corner from shipping, I reached out to Donald, and he took care of me right away. Unit is very light and portable.

It works great!
Works just as described. Ive done 60+ agar plates over the past 3 weeks and have had zero contamination. I would highly recommend this for anyone who wants to take the next step in mycology without breaking the bank.
Nice and neat
No contamination when pouring Petri dishes, or working with liquid culture without injection ports. Overall very happy with my purchase!
I liked the price.
Hi John, Thank you for your feedback, We normally include instructions with every product but must have missed it this time, I will send them over email to you now.
First it arrived damaged, but the communication was great and they offered me to replace. The crack was not too bad and I did not want to have trouble with all the return procedures. I used it as is and it worked well, no contamination. Now, after a year and max 4-5 times using it during this time the fan stopped working. I know that it’s not a professional equipment, but for the price it’s pretty bad quality.
I liked everything about it, its well designed , and the work rack folds up to protect the Hepa filter when not in use. A masterpiece of 3D printing.
Excellent!
